IMPORTANT UPDATES:
Renewals: Due to changes in the patient register cards in the spring of 2019, Medical cards will be issued with 3 (three) dates. 2(two) Annual recertification dates and 1(one) expiration date. ALL dates require a medical certification from your certifying provider and must be submitted to the New Mexico Department of Health to satisfy your renewal for each year leading up to your expiration date. On your expiration year, the DOH will then replace your card with a fresh set of dates. IF you do not submit the proper paperwork to satisfy your annual requirements, your card will be deactivated in NM's universal system and you will not be able to purchase medicine until this requirement is met. DON'T WAIT, RENEW NOW! Note: it still may take 30 business days for your card to update, be proactive. See below image for clarification.
Senate Bill 139 restores the original definition of a “qualified patient" as a “resident of New Mexico.” Reciprocal patients who have enrolled in medical cannabis programs of other U.S. states are also eligible to participate as of July 1, 2020
Reciprocity: If you hold a medical cannabis card in another state, due to the court judgment on Oct 16, 2020, registered New Mexico Cannabis dispensaries now can continue to serve out of state card holders.
